Mrs. Vika Viola Svensson, born in Gothenburg in 1879, was a pioneering figure in Swedish education, being among the first women to earn an engineering degree from a Swedish university. At the turn of the century, she emerged as a talented and esteemed member of society.

In 1911, she expanded her influence by opening a coffee house on Kyrkogatan in Gothenburg, adding to the city’s cultural landscape.
She quickly gained popularity and was considered ahead of her time. Her coffee house became a beautiful meeting place for the rich and famous. Unusually for the era, she also enjoyed selling snus to her clientele, which earned her the nickname “Snus-Vika”.
